Meknès Agro Distribution: the ERP went down on Saturday night and nobody was notified

Meknès Agro Distribution delivers dairy products and olive oil to 600 grocery stores in the Fès-Meknès region. Its ERP runs on the VM vm-erp-01 (resource group rg-mad-erp). On Saturday at 23:40, the data disk filled up (logs from a misconfigured backup): the ERP stopped, and Sunday morning's delivery notes could not be printed. The on-duty driver called at 03:50.

The disk was cleaned up on Sunday; the ERP is working again. But management is asking a simple question: “We pay for Azure monitoring. Why did nobody get an alert?” An alert rule alerte-disque-erp was created last year by Rachid, the former administrator, who left at the end of September.
