Customers are logged out at random and lose the booking in progress

Tetouan · project smir-location-prod-6618 · europe-west9 · Smir Location · 18:10

Smir Location, a car rental company in Tetouan (branches in M'diq and Martil), keeps the sessions of its booking website in a Memorystore for Redis instance redis-sessions (europe-west9, private IP 10.70.0.4). Each session is a sess:<id> key with a time-to-live of 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the web team launched the new catalog: vehicle pages are cached in the same Redis (cache:* keys). Since then, as the Indian summer peak approaches, customers are sent back to the login page in the middle of a booking. The developer suspects a misconfigured session lifetime; the hosting provider, a network issue between GKE and Redis.

You are on the bastion bastion-smir, with gcloud (project smir-location-prod-6618, number 338120497765) and redis-cli, which can reach the instance.
