ml-web-02: security updates have been failing for three weeks with “No space left on device”

ml-web-02 is one of the two web servers of the MasterLinux branch in Marrakech (local enrolment site). Security updates are installed every night with unattended-upgrades.

This morning's compliance report marks it red: no fix applied since 29 September, while ml-web-01, its twin, is up to date. An important kernel fix is pending. The site works normally, but the security manager wants the server to be up to date before tonight.

A colleague already tried “by hand”: sudo apt upgrade stops on a No space left on device error and leaves packages “half configured”. He checked the disk: “there are 18 GB left, it is not the space”.

You are logged in as ops (sudo) on ml-web-02. Unblock the updates, cleanly.
