At Laiterie du Saïss, the ERP and the printers no longer answer by name

Laiterie du Saïss, a dairy in Fez (Sidi Brahim industrial zone), runs its production with an ERP on srv-erp (10.40.0.25). The saiss.local domain uses an Active Directory-integrated DNS zone, hosted on DC-FES-01.

Last week, Karim, the administrator, read that you should “clean up old DNS records”. He enabled scavenging on the server and on the zone, setting the intervals “as short as possible so that it is effective”.

This morning at 07:30, the night shift can no longer open the ERP: “srv-erp not found”. The NAS and the loading dock printers no longer answer by name either. The milk collection trucks are waiting for their delivery notes.

You are logged on as administrator on DC-FES-01. Restore name resolution and make sure it does not happen again tonight.
