Privacy Policy
1. Data controller
Personal data is processed by MasterLinux, reachable at contact@masterlinux.online, in accordance with Moroccan law no. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and, for people located in the European Union, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
2. Data collected
Account: display name, e-mail address, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in clear text), sign-up date and version of the accepted terms.
Learning: progress, lab and simulation results, certificates.
Orders: offer, amount, status, payment method, PayPal transaction identifiers, the transfer receipt you upload, time-stamped proof of your acceptance of the Terms of Sale.
Technical: IP address (security, login attempt limiting, automatic choice of language and currency) and server logs.
We never collect your card numbers: they are entered directly with PayPal.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Providing the purchased courses and managing your account (performance of the contract); collecting and proving payments, preventing fraud and abusive disputes (legal obligations and legitimate interest); securing the Service (legitimate interest); sending e-mails required by the service, such as password resets. No advertising, no sale of data, no commercial profiling.
4. Recipients
Your data is only accessible to the MasterLinux team and to strictly necessary providers: the host of our server and PayPal for online payments. The country is determined from the IP address on our own server (DB-IP Lite database), without sending it to a third party. E-mails are sent from our own mail server.
5. Retention periods
Account and progress: as long as the account exists, then deleted within 30 days of a deletion request. Orders, proof of payment and of acceptance of the terms: 10 years (accounting obligations and evidence in case of dispute). Technical logs: 12 months at most.
6. Cookies
The site only uses two strictly necessary cookies: the login session (ml_session) and the chosen language (ml_lang). No advertising or third-party analytics cookies. On the payment page, PayPal may set its own cookies, governed by its own policy.
7. Security
Encrypted connection (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted and logged server access, encrypted daily backups kept for a limited time.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, object to and delete your data and, for EU residents, to restriction and portability. Write to contact@masterlinux.online from your account’s e-mail address. You may also contact the CNDP (Moroccan data protection authority, www.cndp.ma) or the data protection authority of your country.
